NHS Education for Scotland
NHS Education for Scotland
We are a national special health board working in partnership with our stakeholders to provide education, training and workforce development for those who work in and with NHSScotland.
We have a pan-Scotland role in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development and we maintain a local perspective through centres in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness with over 1,000 staff who work closely with our frontline educational support roles and networks.
Our aim is to improve health and care through education and a significant proportion of our work focuses on the clinical workforce, with a large part of our funding used to pay for doctors and dentists in training and the training of those who train them.
In addition we prepare professionals for practice in clinical psychology, pharmacy, optometry and healthcare science and we provide access to education for the nursing, midwifery and allied health professions and for healthcare support workers and administrative, clerical and support staff. We deliver CPD for each of the four primary care professional contractor groups; GP, dentistry, pharmacy and optometry.
We also support public service reform and current policy priorities through education for improving quality, service re-design, leadership and management, mental health, dementia, older people and children and young people with a particular emphasis on enabling sustainable quality through the 2020 Vision.

Scotland IS
The digital technologies industry in Scotland employs over 70,000 people, offering a wide range of skills and professional services from niche specialised companies to global players.
Digital technologies underpin modern business and is critical to Scotland’s economic success.
ScotlandIS is the trade body for the digital technologies industry in Scotland, representing software, IT, telecommunications businesses and digital agencies, from multinationals with a Scottish base to start-ups. It networks the industry through a range of events, including its annual conference ScotSoft and the Digital Technology Awards.
At a practical business development level ScotlandIS has built strong links across the industry helping large companies build their supply chains through access to smaller, innovative companies, and supported smaller companies to connect up with the majors. A particular focus has been encouraging the public sector to buy from locally based businesses.
ScotlandIS has been the driving force behind the development of the ICT and Digital Technologies Skills Investment Plan, published by SDS and now in the early stage of delivery. This aims to reinforce and improve all aspects of the skills pipeline, from the schools curriculum to work place skills development.
In addition the team at ScotlandIS undertake industry specific research such as the annual Scottish Technology Industry Survey, salary data and end market research. They also lobby policy makers and government on industry issues, for example connectivity and infrastructure improvements, and are viewed as a trusted source of information, providing a strong industry voice.

Scottish Federation of Housing Associations
The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations exists to lead, represent and support its members - housing associations and co-operatives throughout Scotland.
The financial contribution and engagement of our members and commercial associates are central to the work of the SFHA.
Our housing association and co-operative members are Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) in Scotland, registered with the Scottish Housing Regulator.
Our members provide and manage housing for social rent, for intermediate mid-market rent and for low cost home ownership.
We put our members at the heart of everything we do, working together to deliver our mission. We want to see a thriving housing sector continuing to provide sustainable and affordable homes throughout Scotland.
Member contributions fund half of all our work whilst the other half is funded through a contribution from commercial activities such as events, sponsorship and advertising.
